Son of Peter and Bridget (Gavin) Joyce from County Mayo, Ireland∼Senator Patrick F Joyce was the son of Peter Joyce and his wife, Bridget Gavin Joyce both natives of Ireland. His wife was Mary Ellen Veronica Hinchcliff Joyce. They were the parents of two sons: Joseph and George Joyce and two daughters: Mary Patricia Joyce and Frances Joyce both at home.

He also had a sister: Elizabeth Joyce and a brother: Joseph P Joyce both of Upper Pittston, PA.
