Thomas M. Marshall Jr., 84 of Flemington passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Bridgeport Healthcare Center after an extended illness. He was born November 14, 1936 in Lumberport, the son of Thomas M. Marshall Sr. and Mary Pauline (Lawman) Marshall who proceeded him in death.

Tom was also proceeded in death by his wife of 60 years, Frances (Wolford) Marshall on November 26, 2017, and two brothers, James and Lee Marshall.

Tom is survived by two sons, Geoff (Kelly) Marshall of Flemington and Greg (Joy) Marshall of Lumberport; Three grandsons: Brandon (Amber) Marshall, Matthew (Kim) Marshall, and Lucas Marshall all of Flemington; Two Great-Grandsons, Titus Marshall and Cason Marshall of Flemington; One Brother, John (Virginia) Marshall of Clarksburg, and several nieces and nephews.

Tom graduated from Lumberport High School and attended Glenville State College before starting work at the Meadowgold Dairy and M&H Zinc.

Tom retired from AEP Southern Coal Martinka Mine as a maintenance foreman. After retirement he sold and appraised real estate. He became active in the community after moving to Flemington in 1959 and served on the Town Council and as Mayor for several different terms. He was also an original board member of the Southwestern Water PSD and worked tirelessly to get city water to the Flemington Area.

Tom was a 50+ year member of the Yates Lodge 163 AF&AM in Flemington and a past member of the Osiris Shrine Club and Order of the Eastern Star.

Family and friends will be received at the Flemington United Methodist Church (19 Berry Run Rd. Flemington, WV) on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 from 2 until 8pm. Funeral services will be conducted at the Church on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 11am with Pastor Alan Price presiding. Interment will follow at the Flemington IOOF Cemetery.
