Rebecca "Becky" Cash Watson October 11, 1943 - August 07, 2021

Rebecca "Becky" Cash Watson, 77, of 136 King Grant Drive, Chesnee, S.C. went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at The Retreat of Gaffney, S.C..

Born in Mayo, S.C. she was the loving wife for 62 years to Arthur Lynn Watson and the daughter of the late John Herman Cash and Annie Davis Cash.

She was a graduate of Chesnee High School, enjoyed traveling, gardening, loved to bird watch and shop. She was formerly employed with John H. Montgomery, Cash and Henderson Drug Store and Harley's Dress Shop. Mrs. Watson co-owner/operator of Watson's Furniture for over 40 years and was a member of Chesnee First Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, also surviving are two sons, John Watson (Jennifer) and Jeffrey Watson (Deana), both of Chesnee; a brother, Bill Cash (Lynn) of Durham N.C.; five grandchildren, Gracin Johnson (Zack), Luke Watson (Chloe), Becca Watson, Katie Faith Watson and Abigail Watson; and a great-grandchild, Beckett Johnson.

Mrs. Watson was preceded in death by three brothers, Charlie Cash, John Cash and Jim Cash.

She was impactful on many lives, including her five grandchildren. When describing her, one of the grandchildren states, "I think if you were to ask me to explain who my Gran Gran was, I'd say she was a woman of grace, elegance and class with grit in her belly. Poppy always tells the story of how you could see through holes in the floor and see the chickens in her childhood home. She has come from nothing yet through her sacrifice and determination, she helped build a business that still provides for our family today. She could greet any customer with a warm smile and make them feel at home. And, in the same day, she could help repo furniture and appliances that hadn't been paid for. I remember her wearing hiking shoes and she was always wearing expensive brand name clothes she'd recently probably picked up at Harley's in Chesnee. I will forever remember her for her style, her loyalty to my Poppy, her many sacrifices, her love for the outdoors, her love for her family and her beautiful spirit that I hope will live on in each of her grandchildren." Alzheimer's had taken her form us many years ago. And, the physical suffering she's endured here has given us all a sense of relief knowing she's in a place of freedom and healing. We never learned the word's I miss you until we reach for your hand and it wasn't there. Thank you for loving and teaching us to be the people we are today. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for all the prayers for our family.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Monday, August 9, 2021 at Chesnee First Baptist Church. A memorial service will immediately follow at 4:00 p.m. at the church with Reverend Gary Grogan and Reverend Preston Edmonds officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Hospice Compassus, 212 East Floyd Baler Blvd., Gaffney, S.C., 29340.

The family will be at the residence.
