Wanda Kaye McDowell Parker, 68, of Denton, died Friday, August 6, 2021, at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro, with Ken McDowell officiating.
Born on January 19, 1953 in Davidson County, NC; Wanda was the daughter of Patricia Trotter McDowell and the late Clifton Eugene McDowell. She retired from Farmer Elementary School to take care of her grandsons.
Wanda enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. She was a fantastic cook who never minded making multiple dishes just to satisfy her grandsons. Wanda loved spending time with Sam and Charlie and finding fun activities and projects that made them all smile and laugh making memories we all will cherish. She and Donald often spent time together on their deck enjoying the sunshine and each others company. Wanda was proud of her son Garret and loved to watch him grow in his life and career.
Surviving in addition to her mother, are her husband, Donald Parker of the home; son, Garret Parker and wife Ellie Swiers Parker of Asheboro; and grandsons, Sam Parker and Charlie Parker.
Wanda's registry will be available from 12:00 until 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at Ridge Funeral Home.
