Edward "Eddie" "Ed" Higdon White passed peacefully away on August 3, 2021 in Spring, Texas. He was born on May 1, 1934 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Charles Roy "C. Roy" White and Mary Belva (Higdon) White. He was the third of five children, with Charlie and Mary Jo as his older siblings and Nancy and Paul as his younger siblings. In High School, he was the starting guard on Ardmore's State Championship Basketball Team and Class President. After graduating, he put himself through college at Oklahoma A&M (now Oklahoma State University, go POKES!) by enlisting in ROTC and working various oil field jobs in the summer. Graduating in 1957 with a Mechanical/Petroleum Engineering Degree, he went to work as a Petroleum Engineer for Magnolia Oil, which became Mobil Oil, first working in Wichita Falls, Texas. There he met and fell in love with Mary Eddynell Thornton, marrying her February 22, 1958. They had four children – Randy, David, Steve, and Lisa. After many years with Mobil, he went on to work for Tiger Oil, to become president of Drilcon, and then president of Interfinancial. During this time, he supported mom in completing her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from Central State University and her career as a School Diagnostician. The family lived in Oklahoma and Kansas, settling in Houston in 1976. They learned to camp and love the outdoors taking many trips to Colorado. He was actively involved in the kids' lives becoming a Boy Scout Leader and coaching youth basketball, baseball, and softball. He and mom were active Bluebonnet Squares members. He was proceeded in death by his parents and three of his siblings, Mom who passed away in November 2012 after 54 years of marriage, and Randy who passed away in May 2016.
