On Wednesday night, August 4, 2021, Charles Edward Crawford ("Ed"), a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed peacefully in his sleep at his home in Henrietta, Texas.
Ed was born March 25, 1954 in Loraine, Texas on his parent's Sixth wedding anniversary. During his youth Ed participated in 4H and FFA and he made Eagle Scout in August of 1970. During his senior year, Ed was declared "Outstanding Ranch Hand of Texas," voted as "Who is Who in Agriculture," a recipient of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Scholarship, and he was voted as Mr. Jacksboro Highschool. He graduated from Jacksboro High School in May of 1972 and he used his Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Scholarship to help him attend Tarleton State University. He went on to Texas Tech and graduated with a Bachelor of Agriculture of Science in 1976. During his lifetime Ed worked as a County Ag Agent in several counties in Texas, he helped start Jo Allens BBQ, and he then went to the Farm Bureau in Baird and finished his distinguished career at Federal Land Bank (now Capital Farm Credit) where he retired after 30 years of service to the farm and ranch finance industry.
Ed was preceded in his death by his father, Lester Dalton Crawford, and his mother, Billie Louise (Gilmore)Crawford.
Ed is survived by his wife Sandy Crawford; his children: Shawn Moreland and his wife Katie of Greenwood, Texas; Tory Ponder and her husband Scott of Haskell, Texas; Courtney Harminson of Cleburne, Texas; Tyler Boggeman and his wife Shay of Henrietta, Texas; Joe Boggeman and his wife Katie of Henrietta, Texas; and his adored grandchildren and great grandchildren: Kylie Taylor, Braydin Moreland, Ashlee Ponder, Hayley Harminson, Cam Ponder, Kody and Savannah Wilson, Swede & Shi Ann Boggeman; and Tynlie and Brooks Taylor. Ed is also survived by his sister Mary Jo and her husband Jack Jansson of Lenexa, Kansas; his brother-in-law Joe Bob and his wife Deborah Smith of Haskell, Texas; his sister-in-law Rebecca and her husband Randall Thomas of Wooster, Arkansas; one Aunt and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Although Ed only had one natural child, he raised five children, which speaks to the kind of man that Ed was in his time here on Earth. Ed was passionate about giving to others and was compelled to give to Veterans, children and families in need. Ed lived his life as a devoted Christian and rancher. He studied God's word up until the end and he is resting in peace and perfection in Heaven by God's side.
