Juanita Parish Thomas, age 83, passed away August 5, 2021, surrounded by her family. Juanita was born September 29,1937 in Smith County Texas to the late Johnie and Leona Parish. She graduated from Arp High School, in 1955. She married the love of her life, Wayne "Tot" Thomas, on January 27, 1957. She was a member of Arp First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. After retiring as the Arp City Secretary, she and Tot enjoyed camping and fishing with family and friends. They made many cherished memories traveling with the Salt Water Cruisers. Juanita was preceded in death by her husband Tot, son Tony Thomas, sister Anita Lane, brother Robert Parish, son-in-law Jimmy Dark and sister-in-law Delores Parish. She is survived by her son Johnny Thomas and wife Lori, daughter Rhonda Dark, daughter-in-law Bonnie Thomas, sisters Ruth Flynn and husband Alvin, Beth Hunter and husband Bill, sister-in-law Brenda Parish, brother-in-law Roland Lane and Tot's five remaining brothers and their wives. Juanita was MeMe to nine grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She had many cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends who she considered family. Special thanks to Choice Hospice of Tyler and her caregiver angels, Jeanie, Patty, Ty and Farrah. Visitation will be held at Cottle Funeral Home in Troup TX on Sunday August 8, 2021, from 6-8pm. Graveside services will be Monday August 9, 2021, at Mason Cemetery at 10:00am. Pastor Mike Rice will officiate the service.
