Laura Atkins King, of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away at St. Tammany Parish Hospital on Thursday, August 5, 2021, at the age of 74. She was born on June 19, 1947, in Hammond, Louisiana, the daughter of the late George and Mamie Cardinale Atkins. Lovingly known as Mom, Nana and "Turbo" her family was her life. She cherished all the moments she spent with them and loved going to watch her grandchildren and great grandchildren in all of their activities. Laura was a devoted Catholic and was a lifelong parishioner of Holy Ghost Catholic Church. She was an avid sports fan and enthusiastically cheered for her favorite teams the LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints. Laura was a tremendous source of strength for her family and they will miss her beyond words.

Laura is survived by her daughters, Stacy Ball (Carl), Jennifer Hutto (Bill), and Kelly Edwards (Chance); grandchildren, Brittany Rice (Ryan), Jamie Wade (Cole), Samantha Summers, Cody Ball, Devin Edwards, and Hannah Edwards; and great grandchildren, Skyler Rice, Cohen Naramore, Brody Rice, Bosten Rice, Braylee Summers, and Baby Wade.

In addition to her parents, Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Henry M. "Hank" King.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Monday, August 9, 2021 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A Funeral Service will begin at 8:00 pm.
