James William Pearson was born November 21, 1946 in Ashdown, AR to parents Jimmy Pearson and Mildred Pierce Pearson. He died August 5, 2021 at his residence at the age of 74.
James was retired from Domtar where he worked in the maintenance area. He was a member of the Oak Hill Fire Department and loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. After the ice storm he built his own sawmill as he was bothered by so many trees being destroyed by the storm. He didn't want the trees to end up as waste.
James was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Hector Pantoja.
Survivors include his wife Gloria Adams Pearson of Ashdown, AR; son Jamey and Mandi Pearson of Ashdown, AR and daughter Sonja and Shawn Fricks of Ashdown, AR. Also surviving are five sisters, Edna Garza of San Antonio, TX; Tina Ramirez of San Antonio, TX; Freida Villarreal of Floresville, TX; Tree Lopez of San Antonio, TX; and Rosie McDaniel of San Antonio, TX along with five grandchildren Emily Hatridge, Ryan Hatridge, Faith Pearson, Bryce Fricks and Gage Fricks.
Services will be Monday, August 9, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Madden Funeral Home with Chris Clayton presiding. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
