Dale Ross Jones, 84, of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2021, at Lutheran Living.
A Celebration of Life service will be held to honor both Dale and Betty Jones on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Calvary Church. Due to Covid-19 restrictions at the time of his wife, Betty's passing the family had held private services. Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Muscatine is caring for the Jones family and the arrangements. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Dale. Dale Ross Jones was born on December 27, 1936, in Taylor Ridge, IL, the son of Scott and Nancy (Johnson) Jones. Dale was united in marriage to Betty Buster on January 31, 1958, in Muscatine. Dale was a truck driver, working for PIE until 1968 and retiring from Yellow Freight in 1995. He enjoyed yard work, tinkering on trucks and spending time with his wife. The couple especially enjoyed riding motorcycles across the country. Dale was a people person and never knew a stranger.
Dale will be deeply missed by his children, DeWayne (Jill) Hopkins, Patricia (Brian) Searcy, William (Lori) Hopkins and Dale T. Jones and girlfriend, Debbie all of Muscatine and Janell (Johnnie) Barnes of Hartselle, Alabama; 12 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and special friends Dean and Sharon Dahms and Donnie Snavely.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Eugene; two great grandchildren, Chloe and Abagail Hopkins and sister, Ruth Ann Kammerer.
