Melvin "Mel" Leo Johnson, II, 79, of Tampa, FL, passed away on August 2nd, 2021 peacefully at home in Tampa, FL.

Mel was born Sparta, IL to Melvin Leo and Lorain Johnson on June 28th, 1942.

He married Jacqueline "Jackie" Herbert on December 29th, 1984 in Seffner, FL at the Orange Blossom Wedding Chapel. He graduated from Southern Illinois University.

He worked as a Telecommunications Technician for ETS Telecommunications for 25 years and retired in 2015.

He was a veteran and served in the United States Air Force. He was a Harley Davidson enthusiast and avid sports fan. He loved playing pool and was an active member of the APA Pool League for many years.

Mel is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, David and Jack.

Mel is survived by wife, Jackie; Children, Victoria "Tori" Powers & husband, Devin, Melvin "Trey" Johnson & wife, Stacy, Pamela Nelson & husband, Bart; Grandchildren; Kyle Johnson, Kaleb Johnson, Tia Lovelady & husband, Luke, Brett Nelson, Brendan Nelson, Bradley Nelson, Jessica Nelson, Great-grandchild A'ine Lovelady and Sister, Donna Hosto.
