Glenn Edward Shields, 86, Topeka, Kansas, passed away Thursday, August 5, 2021.

Glenn was born June 15, 1935, in Octavia, Oklahoma, son of Lee and Syble Hill Shields. He graduated from Smithville High school. He served in the United States Air Force. Glenn married Jody Wayment on January 12, 1961. He worked as an elevator repair man for the Dover Elevator Company and as a hobby rancher on the side. Glenn and Jody enjoyed traveling extensively in their RV after retirement. Glenn was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served missions for the Church in Elberta, Utah and Martin's Cove, Wyoming. He also served as a temple worker at the Winter Quarters, Nebraska Temple. Glenn lived a life of service because he enjoyed serving people.

Glenn is survived by his children, grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jody, and siblings, Gerald Shields and Pat Fox.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, August 13th, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3611 SW Jewell Ave, Topeka KS 66611, where visitation will be at 1 p.m. Burial to follow in West Lawn Memorial Garden.
