Esther M. Smith, 90, of Greencastle, passed away on Monday, August 2, 2021 at Brookview Healthcare Center. Born December 14, 1930 in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Reed A. Neff and Margaret Noll Neff. Her beloved husband, William L. Smith, preceded her in death on February 25, 2018.

Esther was a graduate of the former Chambersburg High School. She was a full time mother, wife and homemaker. Esther was employed as Vice President of her husband's auto body shop, Smith's Auto Body. She and her husband also worked in real estate. She enjoyed shopping and most of all, spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Sites (Ted) of Greencastle; son, Kenneth Brookens (Kim) of Fayetteville; three grandchildren; Heather Marie Gantt and husband Leon of Winter Garden, FL, Kevin Brookens of Dover, PA, and Kane Brookens of Frederick, MD; two great-grandchildren, Trey and Sawyer Gantt; and three siblings, Delores Shover, Ken Neff and Ron Neff. Aside from her husband and parents, Esther was preceded in death by four sisters, Ruth Gray, Louise Mills, Peg Brookens and Vicki Musser.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at 12:00 PM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Rev. Kenneth Brookens and Rev. David Grove will officiate. Entombment will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
