Gwen L. Vaughn Wade Harris was born Aug 27,1944 the fourth of nine children. Born to Warren and Willie M. Biles in Cleveland where the family attended St. Paul AME Zion church. She confessed Christ and joined the Jehovah Witnesses assembly. Later in life she changed her membership and joined Mt. Zion Fellowship under Senior Pastor Dr.C.Ronald S.Williams, II.
She graduated from high school in Cleveland where she excelled in clerical studies. Over her work career she held various positions from working for county hospital as an nurses' aide and worked as an office manager /receptionist for other temporary services. She worked in personnel for Job Corps, Sarge's Towing and Recovery, Great Day Tours and Marriott Customer Service.
Gwen met and married Jerry L. Pearson, Sr from this union two children were born. Deidra Y. Biles-Pearson and Jerry L. Pearson, Jr. The union ended in divorce. She met and married William J. Vaughn, Jr from this union one child was born Roberta J. Vaughn. The union ended in divorce. Gwen met and married John Ed Harris on March 20, 1984, until her untimely death on July 31, 2021.
She emersed herself in the word of God and shared the love of Christ with family members and others.
She loved her family, traveling, spending time with her grandsons Christopher Wray and Zuri Brown.
She was a member of the Red Hat Society, Eastern Star and the Mother's Board at Mt. Zion Fellowship church. She loved to modern and line dance, attend plays and enjoy live music.
She leaves behind husband John E. Harris of 37 years. Siblings Harriet Thomas (deceased), Warren Biles Jr (Lois), William Biles (deceased), Larry Biles, Margaret Johnson, Ronald Biles (Nellie), Richard Biles and Wayne Biles. Three children: Deidre Y.
