He was born July 27, 1917 in St Joe, a son of the late Joseph and Mary Vogt Greuel. He attended New Holstein Schools.
On May 1, 1943, he married Jean Bastian in Milwaukee.
The couple lived in Kiel until 1946, when they farmed in the Town of New Holstein.
He served in the US Army during World War II.
Mr Greuel was a member of Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kiel and its Holy Name Society.
Survivors include his wife, five daughters, Barbara, Margaret, Sandra, and Mary , all at home, and Mrs Randall (Lorraine) Schnell of Kiel; five sons, James, William, Joseph, David and Kenneth.
nine grandchildren, and a brother Roland Greuel. He was preceded in death by a granddaugher and two brothers.
Burial in Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Kiel.
