Donna Jean (Minchow) Barnes, 90, passed away a few days past her 90th birthday. She was born at Lincoln, Nebraska the daughter of Arthur Henry and Gladys Charity (Uland) Minchow. She attended school at many locations, including Mullinville, Kansas, Clear Lake, Iowa, Bushton Kansas, and graduating from Oakland, Iowa.
On September 10, 1950, she married James "Leonard" Barnes at Oakland, Iowa. After his military service they ended up at rural Burdett, Kansas, where they lived from 1953 to 1975. They then moved to Dodge City where they spent the rest of their lives. Donna and Leonard Barnes were both Life Master Bridge players playing and placing in many Bridge Tournaments throughout the United States. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary, Dodge City Moose Club, and the United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: two sons Tom Barnes and wife Connie, Dodge City, and David Barnes and his wife Cindy, Ft Collins, Colorado. She has four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Bernice Barnes, Claflin, Kansas and Pam Barnes, Yukon, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
