Mr. Danny Royce Jones, 84, of Jefferson City, MO, passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2021.

He was born on August 25, 1936 in Iberia, MO to Nual and Marguerite (Agee) Jones. He married Margie Marie Deuschle on September 25, 1958.

Danny graduated from Iberia High School and enlisted in the United States Navy. After his service in the Korean War, he was honorably discharged, transferring to the Missouri Army National Guard. He proudly served his country for over 9 years.

Danny was a career man and proud business owner. He owned and operated The Conrad Motel and Sky Harbor Resort, was a salesman for Capital Supply for 15 years, worked in the hotel business for North Kansas City Development Company, and was the chief engineer manager for Park Inn in Jefferson City. He eventually retired from the Department of Corrections where he was an enterprise supervisor for 15 years.

Danny was an inventor, patenting his own self designed electric hot water clean out tool in 1977.

Danny was a member of the Eldon and Jefferson City VFW and American Legions, various tractor pulling associations, and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.

Danny was a jack of all trades. He spent countless hours building his own home, where he lived for nearly 40 years. He also had an incredible passion for the outdoors. Crappie fishing, hunting, or simply sitting outside to watch the birds were his favorite pass times. For years, Danny and his grandson Lucas participated in many tractor pulls and enjoyed showing Margie's Mustang at car shows. These were memories he cherished the most. In his later years, Danny spent his time reminiscing and telling stories about the past. To him, there was never a bad time for a good story.

Survivors include: daughters, Carolyn Lootens of Taos, and Debbie Ferrell of Jefferson City; siblings, Shirley Pemberton (Robert) of Blackburn, Cindy Humphrey of Gallatin, TN and Joanna Grant (Douglas) of Longmont, CO; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Margie; daughter, Barbara; brother, Terry Humphrey; and sons-in-law, Bernard Kempker and Jerry Lootens.

Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 12:00 until 1:30 pm Sunday, August 8, 2021 with a celebration of life following at 1:30 pm with Pastor Trevor Hayes officiating. Entombment with military honors will be at the Mausoleum of Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
