Tracy Wayne Posey, along with his younger brother, William "Todd" Posey, were en route to school at East Limestone High on the rainy morning of February 16, 1982 when they were struck head-on by a pickup truck.
Tracy was employed by Hardee's restaurant in Athens and was very active in the marching band program, playing trombone. He was a featured soloist during the half-time performances.
He was preceded in death by his infant sister, Teri Layne. His mother, Judy, joined him in earthly death exactly 16 months after his accident.
