Katherine Louise Dobbins, age 75, of 306 Dairy Street, Covington, Virginia and formerly of Selma, passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at The Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation in Low Moor, Virginia.

Katherine was born September 26, 1945 in Lawrence, Kentucky to the late John Harvey Dobbins, Sr. and Ethel Moore Dobbins.

She was a graduate of the last class of Central High School in 1963, where she was crowned Homecoming Queen and attended Radford College.

She retired from the Chesapeake and Ohio Hospital Association and was a member of Faith Baptist Church.

Katherine loved sports, especially basketball and her Kentucky Wildcats, and was an avid reader.

She is survived by her two daughters, Veronica Hayslett Burns and husband, Marty of Clifton Forge, and Valerie Hayslett Brackenridge and husband, Steve of Iron Gate; a god daughter, Tanya Patton Brown; her sister and best friend, Lydia D. Nicely of Clifton Forge; two brothers, Frank Dobbins and wife, Patsy of Salem and John Dobbins, Jr. and wife, Donna of Wake Forrest, NC; three grandchildren, Michaela Burns McDaniel and husband, Jacob, Trey Brackenridge, and McKenna Burns; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Shirley Hall, Cindy Curtis, and Cindy Atkins.

In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
