Carolyn Ann Elkins Wallace passed away peacefully on August 4, 2021. She was born December 4, 1940, the oldest of five children of John Thomas Elkins and Elizabeth Mae Knott Elkins. She lived a very full life and loved her family, her flower garden and her little dog Tito who was her constant companion. She had a massive capacity for love and lived her entire life always thinking of others before herself. She was an active member in her church, Bumpus Mills Church of Christ and also loved participating in activities with the Stewart County Historical Society and the Stewart County Archives. She was well known around the area for her talent in baking and regularly made her wonderful homemade rolls, cakes and pies for many who loved them and her. She was admired and loved by everyone that had the privilege to know her and will sorely be missed by all.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Douglas Henry Wallace, her parents and two brothers Proctor Elkins and Joe Elkins. Survivors include her sister, Faye Ward of Clarksville, TN, Jimmy Elkins (Judy) of Puryear, TN, her daughter, Kim Staines (Mike) of Dover, TN and Kevin Wallace (Lori) of Dover, TN.
She was blessed with four wonderful grandchildren, Lara Pellum (James) of Dover, TN, Lisa Potter (Justin) of Loveland, Colorado, Audra Atkins (Cody) of Dresden, TN and Bret Wallace of Dover, TN. She also had six beautiful great grandchildren David Clemensen, Cole Pellum, Ava Pellum, Kiera Taylor, Jude Potter and the youngest Cordelia Atkins, many nieces, nephews, close friends and family members who filled her life with love and happiness.
Visitation for Carolyn will be at Anglin Funeral Home in Dover, TN on Thursday, August 5, between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Services will be held in the chapel at Anglin Funeral Home on Friday, August 6 at 10:00 AM. Following the services, she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Crow Cemetery in Bumpus Mills, TN.
Arrangements are entrusted to Anglin Funeral Home, Dover, TN.
