Evelyn JoAnn Hicks, age 89, of York, NE died at home August 4, 2021. She was born March 8, 1932 on the family farm located in Seward County to William and Anna (Ficken) Hodde. Evelyn graduated from Seward High School in 1949. She was united in marriage September 2, 1950 to William R. Hicks.

Evelyn managed Goodrich Dairy in York for several years until she became owner of Hicks Enterprises and Wildflower Consignments.

She is survived by her daughters Deborah (David) Robotham and Denise (Dennis) Leinen all of York; her grandsons, Christopher Prince of Portland, OR; Joshua (Candace) Leinen of Lincoln and Joseph (Alison) Leinen and Ryan Robotham all of York; Great-grandchildren: Tess, Amya, Dre, Alexus and Harper; Great-great-grandchildren: RyLyn, Maddox and Akari.

She is preceded in death by her son Bill, parents and siblings.

Evelyn's wishes were to be cremated so there will be no viewing or visitation. Private family inurnment at a later date.
