John B. Rauch, 89, of Monroe, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at Adams Woodcrest. John was born in Decatur on May 21, 1932, to the late Alfred and Rose (Faurote) Rauch.

On December 26, 1953, John married Jean (Braun) Rauch, she preceded him in death in 1992. On July 19, 1997, he married his second wife, Marie (Rowdon) Rauch.

John was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. He served as a City Councilman for the city of Monroe. He retired from International Harvester at the age of 48 and started a small business mowing 50 plus yards and also enjoyed woodworking. John was named Valentine King at Woodcrest in 2020. He served his country in the United States Army.

Survived by is his wife, Marie Rauch of Monroe; daughters, Sandy (Gary) Frey of Decatur and Deb (Dave) Downey of West Lafayette; step sons, Greg (Delana) Winans of Slayter, LA and Doug (Irena) Winans of Houston, TX; a brother, Alvin (Angie) Rauch of Decatur; a sister, Harriet Schwaller of Decatur; a sister-in-law, Margaret Edger of Geneva; three grandchildren, Amber Rose Frey, Dustin (Sarah) Frey and John M. "JM" (Jeff) Downey; six step-grandchildren, eleven step-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.

John was preceded in death by his siblings, Homer, Bill, Charlie Rauch, Ruth Gage, Loretta Rumschlag, Leona "Chick" Lengerich, Phyllis DeKoninck, and stepson, Clarence Winans.

Private Services will be held and burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
