Born on January 6, 1938 in Sandstone, he was the son of the late George W. Ayers and Permellia Agnes Taylor Ayers.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 4 sisters, Elizabeth Sue Adkins, Doris Burnett, Sybil Shackelford and Madaline Walker; 3 brothers, Richard Ellis Ayers , Bernard Lewis Ayers and Grover Ayers.
Survivors include 2 children and 1 brother, Cecil (Brenda) Ayers of Tenn as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for family and friends will be at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Chapel on Saturday, August 7, 2021 from 1:00 until 1:30. Graveside service will follow at 2:00 at the Patton Hill Cemetery, Meadow Bridge with Pastor Jimmy Groves officiating.
