SPRINGDALE -- Julian St. Clair "Jack" Plemmons, 86, of Springdale died Nov. 17, 2007, at the Fayetteville Veterans Home. He was born Nov. 3, 1921, in Ponca City, Okla., to Oscar Caney and Ethel Louise Sponamore Plemmons.

He was a retired trouble shooter for Pacific Bell Telephone Co., a member of Robinson Avenue Church of Christ and was a paratrooper in the Army during World War II. His hobbies included reading, writing poetry and collecting American Indian artifacts. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene "Betty" Plemmons, in 2004.

Survivors include two sons, David Plemmons of Raton, N.M., and Warren Ray Plemmons of Springdale; three daughters, Cynthia Newnham of Klammath Falls, Ore., Debra Hunter of Berkeley, Calif., and Terri Wills of West Fork; three brothers, Franklin W. "Tony" Plemmons of North Carolina, Kay Franklin Plemmons of Langley, Okla., and Harlan Zane Plemmons; four sisters, Beatrice Duncan, Jean Sullins, Lorraine Conner and Judith Emerick; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Robinson Avenue Church of Christ with Gary Frazier officiating. Burial will be later in Fayetteville National Cemetery.
