Earl was born in Schenectady NY, son of the late Earl and Blanche Stewart. He was a graduate from of Jamesine Franklin School of Professional Art and Design in New York, where he earned his degree in Industrial Design and Advertising Communications.
Earl's career at General Electric spanned 33 years, during which he was recognized for many of his achievements, company patents and design awards. As a highly experienced industrial designer, gifted illustrator and respected manager, he took pride in the development of prototype company products by producing detailed conceptual renderings and prototype models that gave the company its first preliminary view of those concepts long before being produced or brought to market. Many of Earl's original renderings and designs can be found in the Museum of Innovation and Science GE archives in Schenectady, NY.
Throughout Earl's life, he enjoyed spending time in Maine, The Adirondacks, Lake George and lastly Cape Cod to which he retired. He and his wife Patricia enjoyed beach walks, kayaking, antiquing and pond model boats as well as spending time with their grandchildren.
Earl is survived by his children: Cheryl Stewart Lovell (Charles), Earl Stewart Jr (Deborah), Karen Stewart Menia and five grandchildren. These family members would like to thank the caring staff at Judson Meadows Assisted Living and the Glendale Nursing Home both of Glenville and a special thanks to Compassionate Care Funeral Home of Saratoga NY.
