James E. "Jim" Schneider, 71, of rural Morrill, went home to his Lord on Monday, August 2, 2021 after completing his battle with a very lengthy illness. He passed peacefully, having spent several days celebrating his life with his family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Mitchell Berean Church with Dr. Dan Howard officiating. Interment will follow at the Redington Cemetery. Jim was born June 9, 1950 to Carl and Kathryn (Asmus) Schneider in Bridgeport, NE, the second of five sons. He attended the Redington School and graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1969, finishing his education at VoTech in Sidney studying automotive mechanics. Jim married his high school love, Becky Olsen on September 25, 1970. After working some automotive jobs, Jim and Becky purchased a farm across the road from his parents' place in Redington and he began his lifelong passion of farming and ranching. They were blessed with three sons, Tim, James, and Ken. After 17 years of marriage, Becky passed unexpectedly and Jim became a widow with three young boys. He later met Jo Ann Kreman and the two were married March 17, 1990. The couple was blessed with another son, Trevor, and a daughter, Mickayla. Jim and Jo Ann purchased their farm North of Morrill and relocated there in 1993 where Jim spent the last thirty years of his life working the land he loved. Jim was a man who loved life, had an extraordinary grin, and always did things his own way. He was honest, faithful, and kind; a man of integrity. He ran his race well, overcoming difficult obstacles all the way to the end. Jim was determined to get every second out of the life that God gave him. He loved his family with his whole heart, Case tractors, Dodge pickups, baby calves, and pug dogs. He instilled in his children the importance of family, the value of hard work, and a fondness for good food at a table surrounded with the people you love. He was an incredible husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Jim was a genuinely good man and he will be sorely missed by the many that love him. Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann, sons Tim (Lisa) of Mitchell, James (Fawn) of Mitchell, Ken (Kate) of Sidney, Trevor (Kristin) of Henry, daughter Mickayla (Alec) Burg of Henry, brothers Bob (Rhonda) of Bridgeport and Harvey (Jesse) of Orange Park, FL, Sisters-in-law Deb Schneider of Bridgeport, Donna Schneider of Minatare, Jane (Bill) Baker of Pine Bluffs, Carol (Mac) McNaulty of Jackson, MS, Brothers-in-law Martin (Nancy) Olsen of Harrisburg, Alan (Gay) Olsen of Harrisburg, Allan (Diann) Kreman of Bayard, Father-in-Law John Kreman of Scottsbluff, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Becky, his parents Carl and Kathryn, brothers Larry and Everett, parents-in-law, Betty Jo Kreman and Bill and Donna Olsen, brothers-in-law Arlyn Kreman and Bill Olsen Jr., nephew Riley Schneider and nieces Holli Siegfried and Leizza Schneider.
