He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy Chaney and Jearline Alford; and one sister, Sherry Freeman of Milan, TN.
Danny is survived by his wife, Brenda Chaney; mother, Reva (Woodworth) Chaney; two children, Brian Chaney and wife, Marian, and Sarah Chaney all of Birch Tree; two brothers, Dennis and Dale Chaney both of Birch Tree; three sisters, Marsha Dale of Mountain View, MO, Vicki Trask and husband, Mark of Owasso, OK, and Connie Kennedy and husband, Jim of Mississippi City, MS; five grandchildren, Taylor, Kristen, Bethanie, Seanna, and Ronnie; and five great-grandchildren.
He loved working on everyone's race cars and being in the log woods. Garage nights were always his favorite, as he got to visit with everyone. His friends were considered family, and he didn't meet a stranger. He was known as grandpa and uncle to most of the kids that met him, but only a select few got to call him his favorite name, "Hapa".
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 6, 2021, at Yarber Mortuary, Birch Tree, Missouri with Pastor Jeff Brake officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 5, 2021, from 6-8:00 p.m., also at the funeral home. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Birch Tree, Missouri.
