Denise D. Chapman, 61, passed away peacefully at her home in West Des Moines, IA.
Denise DeAnn Chapman was born on July 6, 1960 to Harlan and Marian Chapman in Des Moines, Iowa.
She attended Dexfield Community Schools and then Simpson College where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education.
While she loved teaching, Denise left that profession to work primarily in insurance, banking and retail.
In her free time, Denise enjoyed baking, gardening, sewing and her beloved cat, Winnie.
She was an active member of Shepherd of the Valley Church in West Des Moines. Along with her faith, family was very important to her.
Denise enjoyed spending time at family functions and was responsible for making sure everyone kept in touch. She made it a point to acknowledge a family members' birthday celebration by sending a card with warm wishes for their day of birth.
Denise was preceded in death by her mother, Marian.
A celebration of Denise's life will be held on Monday, August 9, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Shepherd of the Valley Church with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines, Iowa.
