John Huggins was the son of John Jack Huggins and Mary "Polly" (maiden name unknown). He was the sixth of eleven children. He married Isabella Whitley Cherry on December 01, 1824 in Davidson County, TN. John and Isabella had eight children:

His wife Isabella passed away 6 days after the birth of their daughter Isabella. John Huggins was initially buried in Huggins Cemetery in Davidson Co. This cemetery of 89 graves was moved in 1966 to Mount Juliet sections B & C for the Percy Priest construction and numbered PP 78. John is assumed to be one of the unknown graves.
