Kerri L. McKinney (Merrell), age 53, departed life on Wednesday July 1, 2020 in Joliet, IL. She was born February 18, 1967 to Thomas and Leslie Merrell.
She was the second oldest of 6 siblings and was preceded in death by her parents, her maternal grandparents, Aaron and Juanita Chandler, and her paternal grandparents, Byrd and Vernell Merrell, all of Lockport,IL.
Kerri was a soulful, sweet and loving spirit who would do anything to help the ones she loved or in need. She graduated from Lockport High School, and worked at Westell for 20 years. She leaves behind 4 children, Jarrett B. Foster, Dominique R. Merrell, Stephanie M. McKinney, and Charles D. McKinney Jr.; 7 grandchildren , Aaleiyah, Alaysia, Amare, Janecia, Jamaiya, Amir, and Ny'ier; 5 siblings, Michelle and Michael, Rogers, Karla Robinson, Tauyna (Cory) Oden, and Thomas Merrell Jr; her aunt Shelia and also a number of nieces, and nephews.
Today we may cry but not tears of sadness but tears of joy ;we will not mourn but we will celebrate.
