Phillip John Werking, age 96 of Greenville, Ohio passed away peacefully at 7:37 AM on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at the Brethren's Retirement Community, Greenville, Ohio. Born in North Manchester, Indiana on July 24, 1925 he was a son to the late Russell & Ruby Mae Werking. Phil had attended Manchester College, where he obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Radio. In his free time he enjoyed playing golf, watching baseball games and loved nature. He and his late wife Helen liked to travel and visited many places all over the world. He attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Greenville, and most recently the church at the BRC. He will be truly missed. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Helen (Stephens) Werking whom he married on June 14, 1952: son Donald D. Werking: his sisters Bonnie Schroll; Jean Mote.

Survived by his daughter Karen & Michael Burnett of Dayton, Ohio: grandchildren Amanda Sue & Matthew J. Henderson; Melissa Ann & Kenneth Bailey: great-grandchildren Jordan, Ava, William, Mark, and one on the way: special friend "C.J.": as well as many extended family members, and friends at the BRC.

Friends may call on the family from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio.
