Michael Allen Eckert, 61, of Muhlenberg Township, passed away at Lehigh Valley Hospital on Sunday, August 1, 2021. He was the loving husband of Debra A. (Reider) Eckert. Born July 22, 1960, Michael was the son of Walter L. and Shirley R. (Stopp) Eckert.

Michael was a 1978 graduate of Muhlenberg High School. He was employed by East Penn Manufacturing for 39 years in the waste management department.

With a love for music, Michael could often be found at concerts, playing the drums and listening to the Grateful Dead on repeat. He loved telling jokes and going to casinos. Most of all, Michael loved his family and his grandson to the ends of the earth.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his daughters: Jennifer M. Miller and Stacy L. Eckert, both of Laureldale. He is also survived by a grandson, Jaxon S. Pauley and a granddaughter on the way. Michael leaves behind his sister, Melody J., wife of Pat Kemp, and his cousins, Lori and Brian, among others. Niece, Amy Kemp-Grodziak and nephew, John Kemp, also survive, in addition to two great-nieces. Michael is survived by his in-laws, Mickey and Chick Goodman, as well.

Services will be held on Friday, August 6th at 11am at the Stitzel Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held at the funeral home from 6-8pm on Thursday evening as well as 10-11am before the service. Burial will follow at Laureldale Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
