Brenda Lovelace Lawson, 64, of Wichita Falls, passed away on August 3, 2021.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 6th at Crestview Memorial Park with Pastor Chad Stubblefield officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.
A daughter of the late E. Ann Haberman and Mac E. Lovelace, Brenda was born on December 2, 1956, in Wichita Falls. She was a very good student all the way through school. Brenda particularly excelled in music. Beginning with piano as a child, she then started on the French horn in junior high and was able to play almost every instrument in the Hirschi High School Marching Band.
Brenda was known to be quite a prankster. She once locked a rookie band mate in the drum cabinet during practice, and she and her brother Randy LOVED to scare Shellye, their little sister, in the dark. Brenda frequently accompanied her mother on the piano playing and singing Christmas carols, boogie-woogie, Doo Wop and many other types of music. Her music was the highlight of the whole house.
After graduating from Hirschi High School in 1975, Brenda married the love of her life, Jerry Lawson, and embarked on an adventure of her life. Ten years after getting married, she had the first of her two most cherished achievements by giving birth to her son Jeremy Kyle Lawson. Then in 1987, she gave birth to her daughter, Jennifer Ann Lawson.
In 1988, Brenda began working at Wichita General Hospital/United Regional Health Care System and worked there until her death. In those 32 years, she made life-long friends who were near and dear to her. Brenda was highly regarded in every position in which she worked. Her attitude was ,"Do it right or don't do it at all."
Brenda is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Lawson; her parents, Mac and Ann Lovelace; and her brother, Randy Lovelace.
She is survived by her son, Jeremy Kyle Lawson and his fiancé, Dalena Martin; Jeremy's two children, Chance and Hope and soon to arrive, Baby Girl McKenna Lawson; her daughter, Jennifer Ann Lawson and her daughter, Trinity Holiwell; her sister, Shellye McCord; various uncles, aunts, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.
For those desiring, memorial contributions may be sent to an animal rescue service of choice.
