Bonita "Bunny" Graham was born on May 1945 in Watertown, SD to Harold and Doris (Poppen) McFarland and was raised on the family farm in Estelline, SD. In 1963 she graduated from high school and went to nursing school and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1967 from St. John's McNamara in Rapid City, SD.
While in Rapid City, she met Dennis "Billy" Graham and they were married on Aug. 26, 1967. They moved to Illinois for a few years before throwing a dart at a map and moving McAlester in 1972. She was hired at the McAlester hospital and worked there until her retirement after over 40 years of faithful service. After retirement she volunteered with Oklahoma Home & Community Education (OHCE) serving as Treasurer and Secretary, 4-H, and AARP. She also enjoyed feeding and watching hummingbirds and gardening and playing with her granddaughter.
Bunny is survived by her husband, Dennis Graham of McAlester; a daughter, Laurette and husband Scott Carr of Moore; a son Cameron and wife MiLann Graham; a granddaughter, DyLann Graham of Krebs; and a sister, Sherry and husband Dean Buetow of Watertown, SD. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Teala; her parents, Harold and Doris McFarland; and brothers, Thomas and Gary McFarland.
