DEATH OF LIEUT. DAVIDSON - Lieut. Benj. H. Davidson, of this place, an officer in the 7th N.C. Regiment, was wounded in the battle of Sharpsburg on the 17th instant. by a shot through the lungs. We regret to learn that he died on Monday last at Winchester, Va. Lieut. Davidson had been in all the battles in which Branch's brigade was engaged, and we have the testimony of men who were with him as to his gallantry and courageous conduct. He never flinched from his duty, and died as a good soldier in defense of his country's rights. Many relatives and friends in this community lament his fall.
