Lana Wilson, 78, passed away Saturday, July 17th, peacefully in her sleep in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Lana was born October 14, 1942 in Austin, TX to Lemma and Morris Sassman. She is survived by her sister, Donna Kay Billie and her husband, Robert, and several nieces and nephews. She was a dear friend to many and also known as "Aunt Lana" to the younger generation. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

Lana grew up in the Austin, Texas area and graduated from McCallum High School in 1960. She attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated from Louisiana State University in New Orleans with a Bachelor of Arts in education. Lana had an adventurous spirit and loved trying new adventures. In 1986 and 1987, she was named as one of Austin's Best Dressed Woman" by the Women's Symphony League of Austin. Her love of life was contagious and she had a way of making everyone around her feel special. While Lana had lived most of her years in Austin, TX, she had recently relocated to Colorado Springs permanently, where she attended the First United Methodist Church.

A graveside service will occur Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at 10:00 am at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery, Austin, Texas 78731.
