James (Jim) Algren Mann, 77, of Montoursville, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2021, in his home with family and is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior.

Jim was born March 21, 1944, in Torrington, CT to Robert and Beatrice Mann. He graduated from North Kingston high school in Rhode Island and then graduated from Brown University with a BA degree in 1966.

Jim met and then married Ann Lutz-Spitler on June 12th, 1968, at the Lutheran Church in Montoursville, PA. Together, they lovingly raised Lance Spitler, Kathy (Spitler) Short (from previous marriage) along with their son Jami Mann.

Jim spent all his working career with Alcan Cable starting in Jersey Shore PA in 1966. He moved the family to many different locations around the US like California, Colorado, and Oregon before finishing his career in Atlanta GA. Jim and Ann then spent a few retirement years in Phoenix, AZ before relocating back to the Montoursville area.

Jim loved to spend time with family, read books and go golfing. He introduced Lance to soccer as well as coaching Jami's teams and was very involved in the youth sports community in general and a huge fan of his grandchildren's events. Spending time with family and friends is what he lived for and is how he will be remembered most.

Jim and Ann attended Evangelical Free Church and Crossroad's Church in Muncy.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Mann.

Surviving is his brother Thomas Mann (Manchester, CT) and children Kathy Ann Short (Phoenix, AZ), Lance Alan (wife Brenda) Spitler (Montoursville, PA), Jami Scott (wife Lori) Mann (Montoursville, PA) and grandchildren Kassandra (Sandy) Marie Spitler, Marissa Jo (Spitler) (husband Jake) Day, Brianna Inez (Spitler) and husband Clint Caso, Lana Katherine Spitler, Trever Braedon Mann, Kara Rose Mann and Colby Allen Short and great grandchild Brooks Day.
