Grace Ruth Hurd Brown
November 18, 1943 - July 31, 2021

Grace Ruth Hurd Brown was born on November 18th, 1934 and died on July 31st, 2021. She is preceded in death by her mother, father, four sisters (Sybil, LaVeta, Eva Jane, Annette) and two brothers (LeLand and Sylvan). She is also preceded in death by her son, Jonathan David Brown and husband, Colonel (Dr.) Clyde G. Brown.

She is survived by her son, Chris Brown, and his children, Noelle, Ryan, and Mason. She is also survived by her daughter, Son-In-Law and granddaughter, Andrea and Charles Nelson and Savannah Brown.

With that said, her family was her life. She was the number one supporter of her husband and children. She was a true example of the Proverbs 31 woman. She prayed for her children and raised them with love. She was a woman of value, strength, loyalty and support for her husband and family. She never waivered in her faith in God and her love of the word. She was a kind and generous person with a wonderful sense of humor. She was the rock of her family because she depended on the Rock for all things. She was an influencer and trustworthy friend to all.

She was a career military wife devoted to ministry with her husband who was an Assembly of God Chaplain in the Army. She worked at various jobs for the Government for 26 years retiring in 2002 from the IRS.

Grace succumbed to complications of dementia but died peacefully in her sleep. We know that she would not want us to weep for her death for she is basking in the Glory of God with her son, husband and loved ones in heaven. Romans 8:18 "For I consider that sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us." Praise God from Whom all blessings flow. Praise Him all creatures here below. Praise Him above ye heavenly hosts. Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen (written by Thomas Ken July 1637 to March 19, 1711)

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 4, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Waxahachie Funeral Home. A Graveside service will follow Thursday, August 5, 2021, 9:30 AM at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas.
