Timothy Neal Thornton, age 66, passed away unexpectedly June 4, 2021 at his home in Marietta, Georgia.
Tim grew up on Jekyll Island, Georgia and relocated to Marietta in 1974 where he graduated from Southern Technical Institute in 1982. He had just recently retired from Humphries and Company where he was the Preconstruction Manager.

Tim loved travel, food and wine, gardening and spending time at his house on Lake Sinclair with family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Ellen Calloway Thornton; his brother and spouse, James N. and Beth Thornton and their sons, Trice (Caitie) Thornton and Sam (Bailey) Thornton all of Savannah, Georgia. He is also survived by his sister in law and spouse, Pam and Al Reeves and their sons, Bert (Amy) Reeves and Neal (Samantha) Reeves all of Cobb County. He had 7 great nieces and nephews, Shaw and Davis Thornton, Charlie Garten, Piper, Corinne, Albert and Jovie Reeves. The Celebration of Life service will be at H. M. Patterson & Son – Canton Hill Chapel on June 19, 2021 at 11:00 am. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cobb County Humane Society at 148 S Fairground St SE, Marietta, GA 30060 or Roosevelt Warm Springs Development Fund at 6135 Roosevelt Hwy, Warm Springs, Georgia 31830. ·
