Clinton Joseph Engelhardt, 84, Huntley Montana, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at his home.

Clinton was born October 9, 1936, to Mike and Mary (Meier) Engelhardt, on the family farm southwest of Napoleon, ND the second born of 11 children.

He grew up on the family farm, and attended school in Napoleon, North Dakota.  Clinton married Leila Esther Diegel on August 8, 1958, in Steele ND. They had three children, Brenda, Scott, and Everett.   He worked construction, building area elevators.  He then moved his family to Montana in 1961, where he worked at various jobs, from farm hand in the Broadview area to road construction throughout the state of Montana.  Leila passed away in September 1968.  He later married Donna Kniefel in Huntley, MT on November 24, 1979.  They made their home in Huntley, where he purchased land in the Shadow Canyon Estate area.  Clint and Donna took in several foster children through the years together.  Donna later passed away on June 17, 1981.  He then married Ruth (Sherrodd) Olsen on August 13, 1983, in Billings MT.  They ran C&R Lawn Service together until his retirement. 

Clinton loved playing cards, fishing and working on car engines.  He always had an old car or truck engine torn apart, that he was rebuilding.  He also, loved watching old western movies and sports on TV, especially baseball.

Clinton is survived by his wife, Ruth, daughter Brenda (Randy) Henne, Scott (Bobbi), Everett (Sue), Roger (Glenda) Olson, Raymond Olson, Scott Olsen, Pamela (Mike) Resner, Teresa (Frankie) Bolerjack, Barbara Kniefel, Mark Kniefel, Bernie Kniefel, Denise (Nick) Heinzman, and Richard Walksnice, a special young man, who is a beloved foster son. Brothers, Larry (Marie), Michael (special friend Sharon), Steve, Jerry (Mary), Kenneth (Brenda), and Keith; sisters Diane Vetter, Karen Lang (special friend Kirk); sisters-in-law, Deloris Diegel and Linda Haynes.  Several grandchildren and great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by: His parents, wife Leila, wife Donna, stepdaughter Beth, granddaughter Randi Jenkins, brothers John and Michael, sister-in-law Sharon, brothers-in-law Wayne Lang, Kenneth Vetter, Duwayne Haynes, and Delmar Diegel, nieces Denice Vetter and Tammy Lang and nephews Douglas and Delbert Diegel.

A graveside memorial service will take place on August 6 at 10:00 am, at the St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery in Wishek, ND.
