HOOKER , Mr. Berry Lee - Age 60, died Sunday, September 27, 1998 at his residence. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Mr. Berry Lee Hooker was born October 26, 1937 in Brazil, Tennessee, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alphonso and Mattie Bell (Turner) Hooker , Sr. and had been a resident of Flint since 1959. He graduated from Rosenwald High School, Trenton, TN, and attended Mott Community College for two years. Mr. Hooker was an Honorably Discharged Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He retired after 33 years of service from Fisher Body of Grand Blanc, MI, a division of General Motors Corporation, and was a member of UAW Local #1292. Mr. Hooker loved fishing, hunting, and games of chance. He leaves to cherish his memory; wife, Elvin "Eydie" Hooker ; daughter, Marlisa D. Hooker ; 3 sons, Clifford (Angel), Steven L., and Errol V. Hooker ; 8 special children, Renee, Sonya, Kizzy, Katrinia, India, Brandy, Fitz, and Floydell; 7 grandchildren, Damion, Kiana, Asia, Chionna, Zakkiyah, Kiara, and Jenarvis, all of Flint ; 3 sisters, Mary F. Hooker , and Annie M. Doaks, both of Trenton, TN, and Bobbie Cox of Humboldt, TN; 4 brothers, Alphonso Jr. (Viola) Hooker of Flint , Henry W. (Faustina) Hooker of Colorado Springs, CO, Tommie D. Hooker , and Will H. (Darnice) Cox, both of Trenton TN; 3 brothers-in-law, Thomas, Sherman, and Harold Davison, all of Flint ; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Hardy Hagans, Robert Fields, the Ten Wise Men Social Club, and Dennis Hopkins. Mr. Hooker was preceded in death by his parents; Alphonso and Mattie Hooker , Sr.; 2 sisters; Dorothy Neeley and Juanita Cox. -- Flint Journal October 2, 1998
