He was a U.S Air Force Veteran and a retired carpenter.
Willard was preceded in death by his parents, David Columbus Mitchell and Venia Kilgore Mitchell; five brothers, Eugene Mitchell, Charles J. Mitchell, Clark E. Mitchell, David C. Mitchell Jr. and Columbus Mitchell; and three sisters, Minnie Wells, Lina Matthews and Dorothy Wells.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Rose Marie Mitchell; children, Venia Renae Mitchell, Willard Edward Mitchell Jr. and Amanda Kay Mitchell; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Leoda Webb; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services with Military Rites for Willard Mitchell will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Pastor Jeff Reynolds officiating.
