John L. Walton, 87, of Roanoke, passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2021.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Joyce Reed Walton; sons, Bobby Walton (Sandy) and Gary Walton (Amanda); daughter, Dianne Cannaday (Robert); stepson, Michael Tuck; and stepdaughter, Laura Tuck; brother, Ezra Walton (Jane); sister, Mary Janney and Jane W. Rorrer (Sebert); thirteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
John was predeceased by his parents, Alonza and Mamie Walton; wife, Geraldine Walton; son, Ricky Walton; grandson, Jonathan Walton; brothers, Elwin O. Walton (Augustine) and Percy A. Walton (Jeanne); sister, Anna Lee Conner; and brother-in-law, Arnold Janney.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Oakey's North Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at the funeral home with Elder Junior Conner officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
