Raymond Joseph Peterson, 89, of Louisville was born on August 19, 1931 in Perintown, Ohio and passed from this life on Sunday August 1, 2021.

Mr. Peterson was a retired machinist at the old Naval Ordinance Station, a member of St. Edward Catholic Church and was a S/SGT in the U.S. Air Force 80th bomber squad during the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his parents Peter and Myrtle Marie (Baudendistel) Peterson and his wife of 60 years, Gloria Peterson; brothers, Erwin, Jerry, and Ralph Peterson; a sister, Rose Guertin (Paul).

Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Steve Peterson (Kimberly) and Ray W. Peterson (Peggy Rochay); a daughter, Alexis Peterson; a sister Edith Jacobs; grandchildren, Maverick, Derek and Angelea Peterson; and a great grandson, Miles Peterson; and his best and blessed big buddy, "Thor". A highlight in Mr. Peterson's life was to take a Honor Flight Bluegrass in June of 2018 to Washington, D.C., he loved the Cincinnati Reds, Bengals, and Ohio State Football; Nascar drivers Bill Elliott and Chase Elliott.

There is no visitation. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial for Mr. Peterson at 10 am on Monday August 16, 2021 at St. Edward Catholic Church, 9608 Sue Helen Drive. Interment with military honors will follow in KY Veterans Cemetery in Radcliff, KY.
