ANNA LUCILLE'S OBITUARY
Lucille a loving wife, mother, Mimi, great grandmother, sister and friend; passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at the age of 80. She was a retired school teacher with 35 years of service at the Iberville Parish School District. Lucille was a resident of Plaquemine and a native of Dorseyville, LA, and a graduate of White Castle High School. Visiting will be at Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 from 10:30am until 2:30pm with Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Plaquemine at 3pm. Interment will follow at Grace Memorial Park, Plaquemine. Lucille is survived by her sons, Michael Distefano and Paul Distefano; grandchildren, Chantel Distefano Dunn and husband Randall, Matthew Distefano, and Julianna Distefano; great granddaughter, Gemma Dunn; sister, Gertrude Leggio Delouise; brother, Dr. Vincent Leggio; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Sam "Buttie" Distefano, Jr.; parents, Anthony and Annie Pirello Leggio; sister, Maria Leggio Toups; and brother, Dr. Anthony B. Leggio, Jr. Pallbearers will be Matthew Distefano, Randall Dunn, Patrick Cancienne, IV, Marc Distefano, Tony "her beloved Godchild", Michael, Ben, Vincent and Joe Leggio. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Vincent Leggio, Johnny Higdon, Dr. Frank Distefano, and Neal Carter. Lucille was a member of the Plaquemine Garden Club. She loved being around family and friends. Lucille was devoted to the Blessed Mother and recited her rosary faithfully. The family would like to thank everyone for their love and support, especially Michael and John Barbee, as well as, Rose Williams, of Comfort Care Hospice.
