ROCK FALLS - Jeffery L. Slater, 56, died Friday, July 30, 2021 at his home.
He was born on April 3, 1965, in Spring Valley, IL, the son of Gerald and Wilma (Thone) Slater.
He had attended local school. He married Jacob B. Tucker on November 4, 2010 in Dubuque, IA. Jeff had begun his working career in sales at Sears in Sterling; Woolworth in Sterling; Wolohan Lumber in Sterling; Allen Lumber in Princeton; Blackhawk Lumber in Morrison and lastly at the Lion's Den in Atkinson.
Survivors include his husband Jacob; his brothers: Ken Slater (Tom Jennings), Jason Slater and Jeremy Slater; his sister, Kelli (Joe) Larkin; his beloved dogs,Lucy and Boom Boom and his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A gathering of friends and family will take place on Thursday August 5, 2021 from 9 AM – 10:30 AM at the McDonald Funeral Home & Crematory 1002 12th Avenue in Rock Falls. Followed by a memorial service at 10:30 AM with the Reverend Rachel Cocar officiating.
Memorials may be made in his memory to Friends of Strays, Inc in Princeton.
