Mr. Joseph "Doug" Douglas Morgan, age 71 of China Grove, passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at his home after a period of declining health. Born January 8, 1950 in Cabarrus County, Doug was the son of the late Irvin Morgan and Gladys Cauble Morgan. In addition to his parents, Doug was also preceded in death by his brother, Gary Morgan. He was of Baptist faith and graduated from Northwest Cabarrus High School.
Prior to his illness, Doug was employed with Gamewell Mechanical Company in Salisbury as a welder. In his spare time, he loved woodworking and had a true passion for it. He also loved going to the lake, going fishing and spending time at the beach. Doug loved going to car shows, but most of all - he loved his grandchildren and spending time with his family.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 32 years, Marie Corriher Morgan; children, Chris Morgan (Amanda), Kevin Morgan (Kelly), Lana Guinn, Andy Guinn, Deana Harkey (Brian). He also leaves behind his brothers, Buddy Morgan (Linda) and Jerry Morgan along with his grandchildren, Alysia Galusha, Andrew Purpus, Alex Guinn, Nathan Harkey, Emma Morgan, and McKenna Morgan.
Visitation for Doug will be on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 from 1:00 – 2:30pm at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow in the Chapel at 2:30pm officiated by Pastors Darrell Coble and Jimmy Brewer. Burial at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove will immediately follow.
