Elena Ortega Martinez, age 92, passed away Thursday, July 29, 2021, in Pearland, Texas. Born in Malabon, Philippines on August 13, 1928. She married Adolfo Martinez, and had 4 children, Evelyn, & Erlinda (twins), Larry and Norma.
Elena is preceded in death by her husband Adolfo.
She is a beloved grandmother to Mary, MaryAnne, Grace, Anna, Ronwaldo, Rolland Allan, Brian, Diane, Ariane, Danica, and Arielle. She is also great grandmother to Lauren, Sarah, Miya, Kara, Aiden, Julian, Avery, Liam, Rianne Angela, Liliane Monica and Gianne Ysabelle.
She loved to cook wonderful Filipino dishes and imparted those skills to her children and grandchildren. She loved to sew and dressed every single one of her grandchildren her own matching creations growing up. She was patient, kind, strict, forgiving, understanding, and most of all, she loved her family with all her heart and made innumerable sacrifices to make life easier for her family.
She will be terribly missed and will be forever remembered and loved.
Visitation for Elena will be held at 9am Friday, August 6, 2021, at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home with the Funeral Service to follow at 2pm in the Chapel of Earthman Resthaven. Interment will follow at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
