Fred A. Williams, Sawmill Operator Of Ava, Succumbs

Fred Alvin Williams, 79, sawmill operator of Ava, and a life resident of Douglas county, died at his home Saturday following a two weeks illness. He was born Mar. 1, 1887, at Buckhart, a son of Eli and Liza Hennage Williams.

He was married Sept. 18, 1912, at Buckhart to Leota Frances Collins who preceded him in death June 6, 1965.

Survivors include seven sons, Floyd Williams of Ava, Lee and Bruce Williams, both of Route 2, Ava, Harmon Williams of Route 4, Seymour; Robert Williams of Arcadia, Calif., Burt Williams of Oregon, Rondo Williams of Wichita, Kan., three sisters, Mrs. Bonnie Cotton of Route 2, Seymour, Mrs. Josephine Rippee of Route 4, Seymour, and Mrs. Lorene Williams of Route 4, Ava; two half brothers, Iva Cooley of Marshfield and G. S. Williams of Mtn. Grove, 39 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, by Rev. William Spindler of Springfield. Burial will be made in the Ava Cemetery by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home.
