Daniel Lee Parker, age 75 of Sterling Heights, died Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Beaumont Hospital in Troy, Michigan. He was born April 28, 1946 in Almont, Michigan, son of the late Ezra Parker and the late Ethel (nee: Hayward) Parker.

Being quite proud of the efforts and dedication he poured into his work, Daniel was one of the countless who showed up every day to give their best while working on the assembly line for the automotive giants. For Daniel that would represent over 31 years of loyalty to the folks at the Ford Motor Company ~ the boys with the Blue Oval.

Of course, not only was Daniel an integral part of helping to produce the automobiles that rolled off the lines, he was quite the "Connoisseur of Cars" as well. From the many car shows he attended to the various cruises he enjoyed, Daniel was a classic who was always enthralled by the classics. When he wasn't immersed in the world of cars, Daniel enjoyed feeding some of that sporting blood that pursed through his veins which would often take its form in the game of golf. Albeit more recreational than competitive, Daniel found immense joy in heading out on a sunny day, preferable with a friend, to chase after that elusive Hole-in-One,…and to simply partake in the beauty that often accompanies the grounds of a golf course. Nothing much beats the pleasure of swingin' the clubs on a gorgeous day and challenging your last highest score. But coming in a close second was Daniel's penchant for the sport of bowling, another pastime pleasure that filled his entertainment card from time to time. Again, more recreational in its makeup, still…he would have been the first one to admit that coming out on top was pretty special, but sharing the fun and enjoyment with his fellow kegler's was a win unto itself. Always in search of that perfect 300 Game, it sure was difficult to "pin down." (HA!)

Yet to all who knew Daniel, they will truly attest to his love of music and the soothing sounds that permeated his being. It's been said that music can be healing, and Daniel never felt better than when he was listening to the iconic melodies & lyrics of the infamous Johnny Cash. Both a balladeer and a page out of American history & folklore, Mr. Cash made an impact on the music scene unlike any other, and there's never been a more devout American and patriot than this Country Music legend. You can't listen to Johnny Cash without coming away a better American,…and Daniel truly knew that feeling. A close second on Daniel's list of favorites was definitely the eclectic and ever-popular, Elvis Presley. That boy could croon a tune to send chills up your spine, and much of Daniel's early childhood was spent hearing Elvis through just about any venue, back in the day. From his sweet and lulling love songs to those hip-gyrating Rock'n'Roll tunes, Elvis had a little something for just about everybody,…and Daniel enjoyed it all.

Yet of all that Daniel counted as special and memorable, simply spending time in the company of loved ones was a pastime that topped his list and made for the most endearing moments of all. Whether it was centered around a birthday celebration, a holiday event, or simply kickin' back for a little camaraderie & conversation with someone special, the best moments of all were always those unscripted ones.

A loving husband, father, grandfather & great-grandfather, Daniel quiver was definitely filled with all kinds of love and family to draw from in the joys that filled his heart. He leaves behind a wonderful legacy of love, and is sure to be remembered fondly by all in whose lives he touched along the way. Daniel truly made a difference in the many hearts and souls he touched in his journey this side of Heaven,…may he now enjoy the blessings on the other side as he rests peacefully in the arms of God.

Daniel was the beloved husband of Janice. Dearest father of Stacey (Rosie) Parker. Loving grandfather of Amanda, Amy, and great-grandfather of Sophia, Mason, Charlotte, Maddie, and Alexa. Brother of Terry Parker and Linda Sobry.

Visitation for Daniel will be held Tuesday, July 27th from 3-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren. His Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, 11:00 am at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Pastor Hal Hightower of Rochester Hills Baptist Church.
